In 2025, I had the opportunity to cover events filled with emotions, meaningful encounters, and fleeting moments. Behind each photo lies a story, a glance, a detail sometimes barely noticeable… yet never insignificant.

I have selected 12 favorite photos, captured throughout these events. Why 12 and not 10 or 20 or whatever round number? As a reference to the 12 months, even if each one of them does not refer to a specific month.

These twelve images may not necessarily represent my absolute best – as subjective as it is and which is to be seen in my event portfolio – but they reflect what I love most about photography: always capturing the authenticity, the spontaneity and the energy of a scene, sometimes with a hint of architecture on top.

Together, they form a mosaic of memories and emotions, true to what I experienced behind the lens throughout the year.

1. Hello white men!

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen - Conference photographer Brussels

We all know her: European Commission president. In 2025, I finally had the opportunity to photograph von der Leyen during a high-end conference (Reminder: I am a corporate photographer, not a press photographer. Therefore, I don’t photograph EU Commissioners every day).

This kind of photo may not appear in a corporate photographer’s portfolio. In this blog post, it just fits well.

At first, this photos feels like a classical journalistic photo. But if you look deeper, it feels strictly codified and quite ironic with one small lady dressed in pink facing 2 tall and old men with grey hair and dark suits. Patriarchy is far from dead!

2. Hello Brussels! here is Mrs Poelaert talking.

Creative corporate event photographer Brussels

Over the past 5 years I’ve photographed quite a few conferences in Brussels and elsewhere in Belgium. If  truth be told, from a pure photographic point of view, many of them are boring! We all know that situation : déjà-vu images all over the place! 80% of my photos are alas no exception to this sad observation, for several reasons which I will explain later in another blog post…

Thankfully, sometimes, you’re lucky enough to work in a very special place and lucky enough to enjoy boredom – thanks to keynotes longer than usual – so much that you get creative again. This photo taken on top of the hotel in Brussels is one of these.

You may not like it, but you will probably not forget about it…

3. Let’s play LEGO!

LEGO workshop Brussels corporate photographer Let’s face it. In my head I haven’t moved past my 12th birthday… Imagine then what I thought when I was hired to photograph a LEGO serious play workshop in Brussels.. 🙂

This photo illustrates the first exercice when participants were asked to create a simple LEGO duck out of a few bricks. 5 minutes and a few different ducks later, this resulted as a simple, yet powerful image.

4. Talking hands

Networking reception Brussels photography

Over the past few years I’ve been collaborating with a couple of associations which fight against discrimination towards people with any form of handicap. As an autistic person myself I’ve actually never felt more alive than in these clients’ events where being different is often praised as an asset.

This photo illustrates a “quiet”, yet very intense conversation between deaf and mute people. Since photos have no sound, I particularly like this one as the energy in every single person is almost palpable.

Representing human beings with all their differences and beauty: that’s typically the kind of photos which makes me wake up and go to work. 🙂

5. More cars!

High-end networking dinner photographer Brussels

With a dad having worked in the car industry, I’ve always loved cars! By chance, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph quite a few high-level conferences in Brussels’ Autoworld museum which I thought I knew by heart, until that night of January 2025 when I shot an exclusive networking dinner.

When all the ingredients are right : great place, great light, great people, you simply get a great photo.

6. Mise en abyme

EU4Dialogue Goethe Institute- Brussels corporate photographer

With photography, simplicity is often key.
This photo was taken during the visit of a concert hall.

7. Ceci n’est pas une lampe

Surrealistic corporate event photography Belgium

Corporate event photography doesn’t have to be boring! Bring a glass of good wine, call on the spirit of our good old Magritte and press the shutter while shaking the whole photo cocktail.

8. Would you like some fish & chips?

Fish & chips afterwork photographer Brussels For the first time in my career I was invited at the British embassy in Brussels to photograph a very serious conference. Can serious be funny too? Of course! Those men are all professionals and as such they know how to enjoy this delicious British meal.

Fries bring people closer and make great photos. Don’t underestimate their power!

PS: Don’t forget about the sauce!

9. Linkedin what? Never heard of!

King Philippe of Belgium - Exclusive event photographer Brussels Another first time for me in 2025! I finally got the opportunity to photograph our King Philippe. Like with von der Leyen, I won’t post here my ‘official’ photo of him. You’ve already seen hundreds of official photos anyway, many of them being probably even better than mine. Instead I’ve chosen this photo because of its vibrance and humanity, 2 things which define my philosophy as an event photographer.

10. Above the scaffoldings

Premium conference photographer Brussels

the hotel, Brussels. What else?! The view from their last floor conference room is probably the best in town.

Feel free to admire our beautiful palace of justice with a fully GDPR-compliant participant interacting with a panel.

11. Take the red pill

Networking reception photographer in Brussels

Look at this guy with sunglasses! How cool is that!? How does he see the world? Did he take the red pill? Did he follow the white rabbit? Many unanswered questions, but 1 really cool looking guy for sure!

12. BOOM!

Editorial photographer Brussels - POLITICO AI SummitThis last photo is certainly the most ‘classical’ from this whole selection. But when everything matches, classical rhymes with powerful. In this photo, everything is just right : light and colors, the proactive expression of the speaker and the perfect positioning of her body and right hand around the branding in the background. Hero shot!

See you in 2026?
