About Cédric
My name is Cédric Puisney. I am a Brussels-based photographer.
Being a true Viking descendant, I was born in Normandy but soon sailed away to other lands, specifically Finland, Germany and Luxembourg. In 2009, I finally decided to fully embrace my European identity and dock in our beloved capital: Brussels.
Some may be surprised but I only came to photography in my late 30s. For a long time, it merely meant snapshots and half-missed uni party pictures, nothing to be really proud of… I liked photography but was more fond of cinema, music history and writing about guitar players, especially bluesmen. Even though I bought my first DSLR in 2007, I didn’t really leverage it… until my first trip to Iceland in 2015: a child’s dream finally coming true at the age of 36.
I realized I wanted to enjoy my trip, and even more importantly come back with beautiful images. Unsurprisingly, the overall result was not really as expected, but I got hooked and I slowly became obsessed with travel photography, always looking forward to the next trips. In the meantime, photography projects and concepts – including portraits or products – became part of my professional life as a marketeer.
From then on, photography became much more to me than art : it was my way to express my sensitivity and my obsession for details (I reckon I’m a huge fan of Joan Miró’s family house painting), while trying to capture what Cartier-Bresson called “l’instant décisif”.
This website gathers some of my favorite pictures and encounters over time. I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I did making them.
